Musicologie Médiévale

Resources for medieval musicology and liturgy

Hello! I'm looking for sources of the Sequence Flos de spina procreatur (ah09097); CANTUS lists only one source( from the 13th century ms. GB-Cu add710; c.1250-75?).

This text is used in a two-voice conductus in the Notre Dame sources, of which Pluteus 29.1 is probably the earliest ... c.1240s.

Does anyone know of any earlier plainchant sources with this sequence? Many thanks! -- Alan

I think this article by Jacques Handschin answers your question:

Handschin, J., 1952. Zur Frage der Conductus-Rhythmik. Acta Musicologica, 24(3/4), pp.113–130.
