  • In response to one of the original questions about KB manuscripts being online: As far as I know they are not available. But, the Hill Manuscript Library in Collegeville, MN USA has the A collection in microfilm form and charges 65 USD plus shipping per manuscript, which is much less than the KB charges for reproductions. Unfortunately, the films are in B & W, but if you are primarily interested in the texts and not the illuminations or colored initials, the digitization of the films is fine for transcribing.

  • It is a manuscript, which was used for a liturgical commemoration of St. Birgitta (obviously ordered by a very rich and noble person). The album contains also a link to a description according to the catalogue by Roger Mynors:

    http://archives.balliol.ox.ac.uk/images/Mynors%20catalogue/Mynors22...

He does not only offer us a more precise description of the content, but also hints to similar manuscripts in other British collections. Probably interesting that this copy of the 7 books of revelations (ff. 2-173, fol. 1 had been cut out) omitted chapters 11-22 of book 6.

About the print editions and a certain censorship by the Holy Inquisition since the 15th century, see:

Morris, Bridget (ed.). The Revelations of St. Birgitta of Sweden : Volume I: Liber Caelestis, Books I-III: Volume I: Liber Caelestis. transl. by Denis Searby (Oxford etc.: Oxford University Press, 2006), p. 22.
  • Dear all,

This is the hystoria 'Birgitte matris inclite' for St Birgitta of Sweden (1303?-1373) by Birgeri Gregorii/Birger Gregersson (1327?-1383). It has been edited (from other sources) by Ann-Marie Nilsson in 'Two historie for St. Birgitta of Sweden' published by Edition Reimer in 2002.

    Best wishes,

    Karin Strinnholm Lagergren

  • Etienne STOFFEL a dit :

    Beste Danke, Oliver...

  • The melody of this Historia is the melody of the office of St. Franciscus of Assisi FRANCISCUS VIR CATHOLICUS (the same is: IAM SANCTAE CLARAE CLARITAS, which I have recorded on CD).

There are some publications in modern manner (Baroffio....)
