Within the Synodal collection at the Library of the State Historical Museum (гим or GIM as abbreviation for Государственный исторический музей, or RUS-Mim according to RISM) there are 10 menaia (except those for March and July) which are as complete as the textbook menaion (Gr. μηναῖον OCS минеѧ), but they provided all podobni (prosomoia) and all akrosticha for the Irmosi (εἵρμοι) with znamennaya notation, while the usual unnotated form of the book left it to an oral tradition (the big majority of Old Church Slavonic manuscripts has no notation). These manuscripts date back to the 12th century (like the unnotated menaia around Cod. crypt. Δ.α. VII by the scribe Neilos II written at Grottaferrata Abbey) and were obviously used to control the deformation of the system of melodies caused by the literal translation of Greek hymns in the territory of the Kievan Rus (at a scriptorium of Novgorod). According to Dagmar Christians the early translation of the Literary Schools of Preslav and Ohrid favoured the system of melodies, the 12th-century reception of the Rus had access to the whole repertoire of Greek hymnography and tried to adapt it to a more literal translation of the hymns. From this point of view the whole church year with all notated prosomoia must have about 3800 folios! But one should take into account that the involved repertoires are not local, but rather monumental collections with an overregional focus.
Now, all these manuscripts can be downloaded as pdf, including a similarly organised Fasten and Flower triod. Some hymns were left without notation, especially the kondaks which are all included in these books.
