heylich ist der dag - Gesänge aus der Zeit der devotio moderna
Concert and CD release with songs from Trier 322/1994
The manuscript Trier 322/1994 contains an unique compilation of monophonic and polyphonic songs with Latin and German texts, dating back to the 15th century.
The manuscript is one of the few surviving sources of polyphonic music from the Windesheim Congregation.
The CD recording was made October 14-16, 2013 in the monastery church of Dalheim with the Berlin based vocal ensemble Vox Nostra under the musical direction of Burkard Wehner.
The sacred songs reflect the complex interweaving of architecture, acoustics, and liturgical functions such as processions, choral prayers, and vernacular chant.
The second CD offers color reproductions of the original pages of the manuscript, together with precise transcriptions in modern notation.
