Anche Michel Huglo ha fatto tante riferenze ai suoi studii sulle visite dei diplomatici bizantini da Carlomagno e da suo figlio Ludovico Pío. In comparazione con alcuni pubblicazioni italiane suo punto di vista è molto originale, ma bene fondato su gli studii storici.
