Dear musicians and colleagues,

for my dissertation I am at the moment particularly interested in the position of hands and fingers as described by Tomás de Sancta Maria and as it can be seen on medieval iconographical documents (see the attached files).

Does anybody of you use/practice this kind of hand position in teaching or concerts? What are your experiences?

Does anybody know a good study treating the subject (besides the few remarks in Bernard Brauchli, The Clavichord, Cambridge 1998, Chapter 7)?
