For the approach of Medieval and Renaissance music one must know the particular knowledge and technique for the performance.
Singing technique of this period is very specific and needs some consideration from the historical background and philosophy. Since we see many young students and musicians are interested in this subject.
Foundation Cappella Stella Maris is willing offer an opportunity to young (semi -)professional musicians to be able to learn the repertoires of Guillame Dufay(1397-1474), a Franco-Flemish composer.
The reason we chose Dufay is; Dufay is the unique composer who lived through later Medieval to the Early Renaissance and traveled to France, Italy. He improved his composition style according to the environment where and when he was living. His works are very interesting and various. Because of this reason, his compositions ask us many possibility and demand some way to develop the singing / playing technique , which is also very useful to use for performance practice of later music.
