The Mediaeval Lauda and its critical restitution
The Association «San Michele Arcangelo», in collaboration with the municipalities of San Gemini, Stroncone and Terni, is organising the International Conference Lyrics, melodies and performances. The Mediaeval Lauda and its critical reconstruction, to be held in Terni, Stroncone and Sangemini from the 28th to the 30th of June 2012.
The conference welcomes any proposal concerning the Mediaeval Lauda in all its aspects: laudari and fragments with and without notation, texts, lyrics, notation, textual criticism, linguistic issues, problems of performance and liturgy, history, theology, teaching methodology, relationships with other repertories.
Submission of abstracts and individual papers: please submit a 2-page abstract, if possible in PDF format and a short CV (maximum one page), to the e-mail address mastrfab@tin.it by May 10, 2012. Please include: full name, post address, and e-mail address. The abstract should show clearly which are the research targets, the research methodology, the original contributions featured by the proposal, and, if possible, a short bibliography (not included in the 2-page count).
Each invited speaker will be allowed 35 minutes, to be divided into a 25-minutes talk and a 10-minutes discussion. During talks music recorded on tape or CD and musical examples will be welcome.
Abstract acceptance by the Scientific Committee will be notified by 15th May, 2012. Accepted abstracts will be published on the website of the Association (www.cantusgregorianus.it).
The proceedings of the conference will be published in Italian (along with abstracts in English) by the end of 2012.

Accommodation: Accommodation for invited speakers will be offered by the Associazione «San Michel Arcangelo». Unfortunately, travel expenses cannot be reimbursed.
The works of this conference will be streamed live over the Internet. Speakers unable to attend the conference may broadcast their lecture via Skype.
