LAS HUELGAS MEDIEVAL
Medieval Music Performance Workshop
Promoted by Patrimonio Nacional (The National Heritage of Spain) in co-production with the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical (National Centre for the Promotion of Music) and in collaboration with Burgos University.
DESCRIPTION: The Medieval Music Performance Workshop will take place in Burgos University campus at Hospital del Rey, near the Monasterio de Las Huelgas. Maestro Marcel Pérès will conduct this intense four-day workshop where students and teachers will explore the repertoire, with focus on the polyphonic manuscript of Las Huelgas and environs. An ad hoc programme will be designed and students will work on performance. The students will present the fruits of their labour in a concert which will take place in the Basilica at the Monasterio de Las Huelgas on Friday 10 October at 19.30. This performance will form part of the Las Huelgas Medieval Festival.

REGISTRATION: Musicians who are interested in applying for the workshop should send an e mail in Spanish, English or French to gestion.cultural@patrimonionacional.es. Applicants should state briefly why they wish to attend the course and include their Curriculum Vitae, a recent photo, telephone number and email address. They may add repertoire suggestions or ideas.
Members of the organization together with maestro Pérès will review the applications and select participants to attend the workshop. This decision is final.
DEADLINE FOR APLICATIONS: September 15 inclusive.
CONFIRMATION: Successful applicants will be notified by September 19.
CONDITIONS: The workshop is free. Participants must cover their own travel, accommodation and subsistence costs.
