The Sound Memories project (SoundMe for short) is an exciting collaborative research project looking at the “Uses of the Past” in the music of Late Medieval and Early Modern Europe. This video introduces the core aims of our project, explaining what our project is about, what we seek to achieve, and how this shall be done. For more information, have a look at our website: soundme.eu

Our project is funded by HERA (Humanities in the European Research Area) and involves academic institutions:

– The University of Cambridge,

– University of Heidelberg/University of Zurich,

– Charles University, Prague,

– Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw,

– University of Utrecht.

There are also several “Associate Partners” – professional ensembles who collaborate with academics, both to facilitate research and to perform the music. These include:

– Anonymous III (Cambridge)

– BASTARDA group (Warsaw)

– La Morra (Basel)

– Schola Gregoriana Pragensis (Prague)

– Spacesound/Soundspace – Acadamy of Performing Arts (Prague)
