My husband Olaf Raitzig (1935-2008) was a musician and musicologist and particularly fascinated by fourteenth century Gothic music. He was an avid admirer of the motets of the ars nova period, which lasted from 1320 to 1410. For many years he researched the extant parchment manuscripts, deciphered their Gothic notation and transcribed them into modern scores. His sources were motets from the Ivrea, Chantilly, Modena and Montpellier collections, the “Roman de Fauvel”, the Machaut collection as well as ballads, virelais and rondeaus from the time. In particular, he complemented his transcriptions by numerous music recordings of his own making. I manage his estate. A first book titled "Gothic polyphony Motets of the ars nova CODEX IVREA studies" ISMN: 979-0-700325-00-8 I've published. His estaite is published on the website www.gotische-polyphonie.de. I have very good facsimile of several sources, I can give them on other scientists for research.
