  • Beste Dr. Leo Lousberg,

"It seems that Regensburg University has changed the links to these publications. Does anyone have the presentations given at the cantus Planus Conference London, 1997?
Thanks!

Leo Lousberg commented on Christian-Jacques Demollière's blog post article sur la notation du chant messin
"http://articles.musiques-medievales.eu/demollierenotamessin.pdf brings me to a site about carpenters. Fascinating, but not what I was looking for. Has anybody the article referred by Christian-Jacques Demollière? "

Leo Lousberg replied to Dominique Gatté's discussion Quilisma, tractulus... signes et lettres de la Passion in Neumes et paléographie
"Dear Dominique,
Thank you for this reference!
This ms seems to reflect the essence of my doctoral thesis I hope to defend next September in Utrecht. A range of melodic othernesses were applied as rhetorical codes, underlining text that deserves…"

Oliver Gerlach replied to Leo Lousberg's discussion An art rediscovered? Microtones as rhetorical tools in medieval liturgical chant
"Dear Leo
Please allow me an immediate response to your preliminary observations:
1. I agree with you, the use of chromatic and enharmonic tetrachord elements do not mean, that the diatonic genus has been left, there are microtonal attractions within…"

Leo Lousberg replied to Leo Lousberg's discussion An art rediscovered? Microtones as rhetorical tools in medieval liturgical chant
"Dear Oliver,
Microtonality has been a controversial subject for over 150 years now. I do not expect a sudden acceptance of an issue that undeniably contains some elements of a paradigm shift. I would highly appreciate your comments and look forward…"

Oliver Gerlach replied to Leo Lousberg's discussion An art rediscovered? Microtones as rhetorical tools in medieval liturgical chant
"Dear Leo
I wished to have this discussion already in 2009, but it was not really welcome yet, to tell the truth.
Except Dublin, there is throughout the year the possibility to discuss the performance practice and microtonal shifts of certain…"

Ricossa replied to Leo Lousberg's discussion An art rediscovered? Microtones as rhetorical tools in medieval liturgical chant
"Thanks! Just two words: the notation of EINS seems sometimes to match the microtonal indications of H.
The tracts of the second mode are probably responsories...
Anyway, thank you for the new perspectives, very interesting indeed"

Merci pour ce pdf !

Toutefois, n'y a-t--il pas quelques illustrations spécifiques tirées des manuscrits ?"

Leo Lousberg replied to Dominique Crochu's discussion L'antienne d'Adieu à l'Alleluia Hymnum cantate nobis in Répertoires liturgiques
"For your information, Ms U 406 (see DIAMM NL-Uu MS 3 J 7), an antiphonary written at Utrecht, 1130-1150, cursus romanus, contains the complete office as well. U 406 represents a mixed Franco-Germanic tradition.

Best wishes,
