In this period my researches mainly concern: a) liturgical chant by oral tradition in Ambrosian area: we are finding and recording (on mountains and countryside villages of the Milanese diocesys) ) the last singers singing the "popular" liturgical chant; they sing Ambrosian melodies, "cantus fractus" pieces, devotional songs etc., always adapted to the typical singing style of the Alpin and Lombard region (for example by improvising a second voice by 3ds etc.); there are beautiful psalm tones, beautiful Magnificat, very interesting arrangements of Ambrosian melodies close to versions that we find in late manuscripts... (and w are finding also a lot of late Ambrosian manuscripts never catalogued); this music is almost all transmittend by oral tradition only: these are the very last years to record the last last witnesses (nothing has been done in the past, unfortunatly); b) the renowal of music theory in 11th century in relationship with these period's hystory... but this is complicate to describe now; c) a last work has nothing to do with Middle Age, but I tell you that I have found a lot a documents regarding the musical life of my town in 19th cent. giving us the "photograph" of the musical "system" of a "secondary" town at that time. Very interesting.
